Receipts
Receipts provide payers with confirmation of their payment. GovPayPlan automatically generates and sends receipts for all successful transactions.
Automatic Receipts
When a payment is processed successfully:
- A receipt is generated immediately
- Email is sent to the payer's email address
- Receipt is stored in the transaction record
Receipt Contents
Standard receipts include:
- Agency name and logo
- Transaction ID
- Date and time
- Payer name
- Payment amount
- Payment method (last 4 digits)
- Payment type/description
- Reference number (if provided)
Resending Receipts
If a payer needs another copy of their receipt:
From Transaction Details
- Navigate to Transactions
- Find and click on the transaction
- Click Resend Receipt
- Confirm the email address
- Click Send
Bulk Resend
To resend receipts for multiple transactions:
- Navigate to Transactions
- Select the transactions using checkboxes
- Click Actions > Resend Receipts
- Confirm and send
Downloading Receipts
PDF Download
- Open the transaction details
- Click Download Receipt
- Select PDF format
- Save the file
Print Receipt
- Open the transaction details
- Click Print Receipt
- Use your browser's print dialog
Customizing Receipts
Agency administrators can customize receipt templates:
Available Customizations
- Agency logo
- Header and footer text
- Additional fields
- Color scheme
- Custom messages
Accessing Receipt Settings
- Navigate to Settings > Agency Settings
- Select Receipt Template
- Make your customizations
- Preview and save
Receipt Delivery Issues
Email Not Received
If a payer reports not receiving their receipt:
- Verify the email address on the transaction
- Ask the payer to check spam/junk folders
- Resend the receipt
- Consider downloading and manually sending
Invalid Email Address
If an email address was entered incorrectly:
- Open the transaction details
- Click Edit Payer Info
- Update the email address
- Resend the receipt
Receipt Records
All receipt activity is logged:
- Original send timestamp
- Resend history
- Download history
- Email delivery status (when available)
Access this from the transaction details under Receipt History.
